You may have missed it over the busy holiday, so here’s a link to Peter Baker’s excellent Washington Post article on President Bush’s evolution on the climate change issue over the course of his administration. It is a fascinating read, and provides hope that the President might be open to instituting a national cap on carbon emissions before the end of his term.
2008 promises to be an interesting year for those of us interested in environmental policy. With Lieberman-Warner continuing to advance through the Senate and the President showing increasing interest in acting on the issue, this could be the year that a carbon cap becomes a reality.
