Stopping Climate Change Is Conservative
by Tucker Eskew
March 5th, 2007

I recently read a good piece by Dallas Morning News editorial columnist Rod Dreher. My conservative brethren should read it, too.

I can’t say I agree with everything he wrote. But his arguments on why conservatives philosophically should care about climate change are compelling. Here’s one excerpt:

“Philosophical conservatism is attractive in part because of its modesty. Traditionally, conservatives strive to deal with the world as it is, not as they wish it were. They believe in personal responsibility. They believe in stewardship, in provision for future generations, and in the moral responsibility to live within one’s means. They recognize limits, consider humility a virtue, and hold a respect for the natural world that amounts to what the Romans called pietas, or duty, towards it.”

Dreher’s right. It’s time for us conservatives to do our duty.

Anyone that believes that man can effect climate change is delusional. Wake up people this is about instituting carbon taxes or credits and people like Al Whore will become richer by an order of magnitude.

It is one thing to push for less pollutants, its another thing altogether to be force feeding the people the lies of global warming.

CO 2 is not a pollutant it is a gas, a gas released by humans, the oceans and an important element in the carbon cycle, upon which earth’s life is dependent.

Global Warming will be the greatest hoax of this century, the earth’s oceans are already cooloing and the solar flaring on the sun is beginning to ebb, we are about to enter a period of global cooling! The oceans are the biggest contributor to CO 2 emissions and the warmer they are the more they emit. Conversely as the oceans cool they emit less CO 2, we will see the changes in the next few years, Can’t wait,

Where will all the chicken littles go to hide when it has become clear to the people that they were led astray. Not just led astray, but with the intent to fleece them with carbon credits! What will happen to those scientists that intimidated and bullied other scientists into signing on for the hoax? Hopefully there will be some form of retribution for those that suffered their stupidity!

Here we go again. What if they are right? Just because they were wrong before doesnt mean they are wrong now. If man had lived according to this philosophy throughout history we would still be living in caves.

There will be no retribution for the chicken littles because they will have what they want, and that is more environmental regulation and reduction of our standard of living for the benefit of the 3rd world. There will be an entrenched carbon regulation bureaucracy that will never go away even if what they are doing is detrimental to the environment. Does anybody think that Al Gore would just admit he is wrong and return the money he made from his carbon trading company back to the suckers he sold credits to? If we would have believed the global cooling hysteria of the 70-s and created a bureaucracy to pump CO2 into the atmosphere to cause warming does anybody think that man made CO2 emissions would be the bogey man today?

  3. James Carson Says:

I do not believe in global warming because I actually passed my first Stats 1001 midterm thirty years ago. The measured “increase” of 0.6 degrees Celcius is within the margin of error of measurement of the world’s average temperature of 14.7 degrees Celsius +/- 0.7.

  4. Bob Light Says:

Get real, who makes the real green in the green crap. Look for this, and then see the real warming. Its in the pockets of the people pushing for this crap. Its a joke, the earth is fine. It will not die. I am laughing at the people who worship the earth.

  5. DEAN BERRY Says:

AMERICA’S NOW DOING THE VERY SAME THINGS THE COMMUNISTS DID TO THEIR PEOPLE. LOOKS LIKE THE CONSERVATIVES LOST AFTER ALL: http://www.deanberryministries.net/index.html

To limit pollution and reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources we should:

Implement a market-based ‘Cap and Trade’ solution
Increase taxes and government subsidies
Buy tickets to see Leo’s latest flop
Do nothing and hope it will get better
Undecided, but we do need to find a solution
