It has been reported that residents are debating whether or not to allow wind turbines to be installed on individual’s property. A small town in Ohio compared the Wind Turbines to strip clubs in their community threatening major regulation from local municipalities.
Wind power can bring and keep wealth in local communities. Farmers and landowners can receive payments in the thousands of dollars from energy companies for the right to install wind turbines to generate electricity for the grid. They could also make their homes energy independent by investing in a wind turbine for personal use, and then sell excess power to the grid for additional financial benefit. With such an upside why would anyone, especially those in leadership positions, stifle wind power investments in the county?
Energy issues are front and center in political debates across the county. Our nation’s energy security, air quality, and climate stability have all emerged as hot-button political issues and thankfully progress can be made on all three issues through one source; low-carbon energy like wind. We can lower our nation’s dependence on fossil fuels, bring needed investments into our communities, and position the county to be a leader in clean energy technology. Again, I must ask: Where is the downside?

It’s revealing how the leftist hypocrites who claim to be saving the environment don’t want to look at wind turbines (if you doubt this, do a search on the Cape Cod wind turbine proposal). That is their objection - they don’t want to look at turbines. The so-called “greens” are OK with wind power, just not anywhere where the turbines might be seen - Mars would be OK. These people, as usual, do not really want solutions, just something to complain about and use to control others. Wind turbines represent a solution, and therefore diminish their ability to control through fear.
